SUSAN FORTINO-BROWN

Susan Fortino-Brown has practiced in the field of Immigration Law since 1987. Ms. Fortino-Brown is a past chair of the Chicago Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She currently serves on the AILA National Liaison Committee to the US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) at Lincoln, Nebraska and previously served on the USCIS Benefits committee for AILA National, and AILA's Ethics committee. Ms. Fortino-Brown is presently on the Board of Trustees of the American Immigration Law Foundation, is Co-Chair of the Leadership Council of the National Immigrant Justice Center of Heartland Alliance and is a Liaison to the Board of Directors of Heartland Alliance. Ms. Fortino-Brown has also served as past-chair of the Chicago Bar Association Immigration & Nationality Law Section, has been a contributing author for past Immigration & Nationality Law Handbooks and speaks frequently at regional and national Immigration Law conferences. Ms. Fortino-Brown conducted a weekly radio program on Immigration Law and has appeared on national and local television as an expert on the topic. She has been recognized by the Women's Bar Association of Illinois, receiving the "2001 Women with Vision" award. She has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun Times and the Chicago Lawyer Magazine. Ms. Fortino-Brown speaks Italian and is fluent in Spanish.
 

HEATHER L. BARBUS

Heather Barbus graduated Cum Laude from John Carroll University in 1997 and obtained her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2000. She is admitted to practice law before the Illinois State Supreme Court as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Ms. Barbus has focused exclusively on the practice of Immigration and Nationality Law and has spoken on employment-based immigration-related topics at regional conferences. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and AILA, and Ms. Barbus has served on AILA’s Chicago Chapter Asylum Committee and the Congressional Liaison Committee. Ms. Barbus assisted the Coalition of African, Asian & Latino Immigrants of Illinois (CAELLI) with the writing and editing of a Naturalization Handbook that is used at Naturalization workshops throughout the Chicagoland area.

MARWAH M. SERAG

Marwah Serag graduated Cum Laude from Arizona State University in 2002 and obtained her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2007. Ms. Serag also earned a Certificate in International and Comparative Law during law school. During her third year of law school Ms. Serag was part of the Immigration & Asylum Clinic and was the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for her work in the Clinic. Ms. Serag also completed an externship with the Council on American-Islamic Relations where she was the coordinator of the Citizenship Delay Project. Ms. Serag is a Canadian-Egyptian national and speaks Arabic
